Model United Nations as one of the values

In this conference, there are several international guests.

So, it is good opportunity to understand what it Japanese Model

United Nations.

compared with foreign MUN, Japanese Model United Nations really set the making consensus as important matter.

as you know, if you join international MUN, other MUN tends to be done by roll call vote (of course, with much of separate vote).

Even though the agenda is related with human rights that is always adopted without vote(consensus adoption) in Real UN, International MUN tend to do by roll call vote.

due to the time limit and the purpose of promoting understandings on agenda, this way provides participants the opportunities to have public speaking, facilitation and other leadership matter.

But sometime, it could lose the dialogue and might be like debating.

Although the diplomatic negotiation needs the skill of debating, but there is no one time game.

we have the negotiation every year.

so we need to respect them and think maximizing our interest in long term.

if we completely criticize other delegate, this might be not good for future relationship between their and us.

So the diplomatic negotiation is not Zero-Sum Game.

In Japanese MUN, the dialogue and process are set as important matter.

for the purpose of consensus adoption, we need strategic way of negotiation.

although Japanese MUN also has week point like lack of discussion between differences, but I always think we need the balance.

MUN has the value to provide the perspective sight. this is really important skill in global era.

I hope MUN contribute that people get the good communication skill in this borderless stage.
